The flooring division of Knauf Gips focuses on intelligent solutions for the success of energy conservation.

The central keyword is "low-temperature readiness", a standard that allows low flow temperatures and thus the highest values of efficiency for heat pumps as a conceivable heating system of the future. The combination of underfloor heating systems from Knauf's long-standing cooperation partner Uponor and the high-performance Knauf floor levelling compounds and flowing screeds delivers high energy efficiency and pleasant living comfort with low installation heights, even in existing buildings. With the WARM-WAND systems, Knauf presents the complete portfolio of thermal insulation and shows special solutions and interesting design options on various exhibits. The innovative MineralAktiv plaster-paint system continues to set industry standards in the field of biocide-free façade design. Furthermore, it will also be demonstrated that when using a mineral plaster system, constructive measures against external fire exposure can be dispensed with in ETICS with EPS and a non-recessed plinth. Thanks to a 10 mm mineral basecoat layer and a mineral finish coat, the protection goal of not easily flammable ETICS with EPS insulation materials is guaranteed even without additional fire breaks in the plinth area. The corresponding validity extension of the certification is expected in 2023.

The second focal point is on three real innovations for rapid continuation of the building phase: The basecoat SM600 Sprint, the mineral finishing plaster Noblo 600 Sprint and the mineral filler Universal-Feinspachtel Sprint enable working with the following product on the next day.

HERADESIGN® Alpha+ is the name of the new product line within the Knauf Ceiling solutions wood wool acoustic panel portfolio. In addition to the already existing product lines, as a fleece laminated option, it offers the proverbial ‘plus’ in terms of effectiveness, sustainability and design diversity.

Thus, with HERADESIGN® Alpha+, architects, planners and speciality companies have at their disposal an alternative that is increasingly favored by the market. And is more consequential in terms of ecological building compared to other composite constructions. The fleece lamination not only corresponds with many customers’ increasing wishes and requirements for the use of natural materials in interior construction, it also improves the panel’s acoustic properties without change to the existing, standard thicknesses, 15mm, 25mm. HERADESIGN® Alpha+ makes possible constructions that conform to the highest absorption class A, without the use of energy-intensive mineral wool.

The wood wool acoustic panels can be installed in one go, thus saving time and cost. Installation is possible lengthwise as well as in crosswise traversing direction, thereby ensuring ball impact resistance in accordance with DIN 18 032 / part 3 resp. class 1A as to EN 13964 attachment D. Hollow spaces remain free of loose acoustic layers, installations are freely accessible. The flexible construction design is advantageous in regards to disassembly and facilitates disposal and recycling.

By combining the full breadth of its multi-material portfolio with fast and easy installation, Knauf Ceiling Solutions is enhancing its floating ceiling and wall solutions. By using the newly designed grouping system, canopies and baffles can be mixed and matched side by side using the same suspension system for all materials. This means architects and designers can incorporate varied textures as well as shapes, sizes and colours. Furthermore, the grouping system improves alignment and speeds up the installation process for contractors.

Technical installations in corridors and hallways often make difficult or hinder the use of necessary suspensions for HERADESIGN® panel substructures. For these cases, Knauf Ceiling Solutions has developed HERADESIGN® Corridor – a free-span complete element consisting of an individually detachable wood wool panel, support profile and edge angle.

A HERADESIGN® Corridor element consists of a 25mm thick wood wool panel with two grooves milled into the back on the long sides. The support profiles (DONN DX 35/70) are designed to be inserted into these grooves. For each construction project, their length can be individually adapted exactly to the actual length of the panel. The ceiling element for free-span installation is 600mm wide and from 1.2mm up to a maximum of 2.4m long. In the A2 range for fire prevention requirements, lengths of up to 2.1m are possible. The edge angle for this system is stepped (SRW 42/20/23/24), with a material thickness of 1.5mm. The easy-to-install free-span design with individually detachable panels facilitates easy access to the ceiling cavities.

Colour affects all aspects of the design, theme, and personality of a building, making an interior space visually striking. Taking part in the latest design trends, Knauf Ceiling Solutions curated a new palette Vario Design of eight vibrant hues, peeking at elemental influences on wellbeing and nature for its core inspiration. Granite, steel, green marble, copper, oak, sandstone, brass and concrete, natural elements or refined ones, all carved and revealed in their natural beauty by craftsmanship.

The colours are available across our mineral, metal and wood wool floating ceiling and wall solutions for open plenum spaces, from baffles to canopies to wall absorbers solutions — as well as our THERMATEX Alpha Colour mineral ceiling tile —, so that designers can create multi-sensory experiences through sound and colours.

As a special DESIGNLINE innovation, Knauf Design presents the lamellae acoustic system for sophisticated interior fittings at the Werktage. The DESIGNLINE lamellae are based on highly compressed and extremely resilient gypsum fibreboards finished with real wooden veneer. Thus, the highest requirements for design and aesthetics as well as fire resistance and room acoustics are achieved. DESIGNLINE Q is categorized in fire protection class A2 (A2-s1, d0) – non-combustible, DESIGNLINE R in class B (B-s1, d0) – not easily flammable.

Four different veneers (Oak Select, Birch, Walnut Select and Maple Select) are available. Further shapes and dimensions, as well as the option to combine them individually, offer formidable freedom of design. Both horizontal and vertical installation are possible. The certified DB-FIX grid for walls & ceilings enables quick installation without tools and ensures DESIGNLINE is the perfect system solution all round.

Opitz Holzbau became Knauf Elements at the start of the year. As part of the Knauf Group, the company focuses primarily on the systemic planning and prefabrication of lightweight timber and steel elements. During the Werktage, the Knauf Elements team intends to show how industrial prefabrication and element production can deliver new impetus to the construction industry. It will become clear that systemic construction is possible through fast, and at the same time, efficient construction and manufacturing of a large number of variants.

Knauf Elements uses its extensive experience in the field of industrial prefabrication to benefit from synergy effects in lightweight timber and steel construction. For the client, systemic construction with Knauf Elements means maximum planning flexibility, shorter construction times and, above all, significant cost optimisation. The new Knauf business division pays particular attention to environmental and climate protection: The CO2 footprint for the individual process stages is measured and gauged over the entire value chain.

The special adhesive tape LDS UNIVERSAL offers a solution that can be used both indoors and outdoors for the airtight bonding of vapor barriers as well as sarking layers. This means that the right adhesive tape is available for practically every situation on the construction site.

In addition to making work easier, this flexible solution also reduces potential sources of error for less experienced applicators of airtightness products. This is important because, after all, material joints must remain permanently intact and airtight once they have disappeared behind planking or roofing.

RESULATION is a new recycling / collection system based on big bags for sorted and clean Knauf Insulation insulation offcuts. The aim of the system is to recycle as much of the insulation remnants as possible - for example as raw material for new products. Four different big bags are available for RESULATION for the following products:

• Knauf Insulation glass mineral wool
• Knauf Insulation rock mineral wool
• Tektalan® wood wool multi-layer boards
• Heratekta® wood wool multi-layer boards and Heraklith® wood wool boards

RESULATION is based on a simple process: Big Bags are provided by recycling partner GFR (Knauf Group's residual materials experts) for insulation offcuts. Filled RESULATION Big Bags are then picked up GFR after a short notification on site and fed into the recycling process.

For built-over, open parking decks and underground garages, Knauf Insulation presents a high-performance insulation system consisting of suspended Tektalan® wood wool multi-layer boards and freely dimensionable mineral wool insulation layers.

The basic framework is a metal substructure made of Knauf sheet steel profiles CD 60/27. The basic profiles are mounted with hangers at the required height - leaving space to the raw ceiling for an insulation topping and, if desired, an additional gap for installations. Tektalan® multi-layer insulation boards are mounted on the substructure to form a robust suspended ceiling. Knauf Insulation Mineral Plus KP 034 insulation boards find their place on top.

Knauf Insulation's Heratekta SE 032/2 single-dowel insulation board for underground garages and basement ceilings now features a 10 mm wood wool face layer, making it more robust and visually compatible with Tektalan® A2 insulation boards. Its new name: Heratekta QuickMount.

Thanks to the thicker face layer, the insulation board with an additional class B1 polystyrene insulation layer looks just like its sister products in the Tektalan® A2 range (rock mineral wool core) when mounted. This gives contractors the option of using both products in combination - depending on the fire protection requirements for the relevant section of the underground car park or basement.

Heratekta QuickMount can be fastened to concrete ceilings with just one dowel or screw, as before. The tongue and groove system also simplifies overhead installation, which can be done by just one person. The face sheets can be colored at the factory in numerous RAL shades.

The Knauf system solution GIFAfloor PRESTO for the renovation of wooden beam ceilings allows a quick and easy installation of a solid screed surface directly on leveled substructures. Thereby excellent airborne and impact sound reduction values according to DIN 4109-1 can be achieved.

Despite unsupported jointings workloads of up to 2 kN /m² are provided as well as a fire resistance of up to REI 90 (fire resistant ) according to EN 13501-2

After only 24 hours an absolute flat floor surface is created as the basis for all common coverings and coatings. Underfloor heating for an economic and comfortable room temperature control can be integrated.

The handy and compact PFT SWING airless is the first PFT conveying pump with new PFT Control for clear, intuitive operation. The large, color display shows all relevant information in one window. A personalizable access password serves as theft protection. Understandable plain-text error messages in many languages provide clear solutions for fast troubleshooting. An integrated operating hours counter provides reliable data on how many hours the machine and the rotor/stator system have run. This allows service intervals to be optimized based on actual use.

The handy and compact PFT RITMO double mix mixing pump scores points in use on the construction site: Ergonomic handles on all individual parts facilitate machine transport. The longer service life of the rotor/stator pump unit and the better delivery rate at low speed, which is realized by the large chambers and the high eccentricity, are also convincing.

In addition, the PFT RITMO double mix is equipped with the new PFT Control system, which offers the contractor numerous advantages in practice:

The questions can be answered by the visitors on location as well as participants at the Digital Werktage. Important: Participation in the Werktage Rally is only possible if you have registered as an "apprentice/student".
